1995
The subject matter of Part I of this series, are the scars resulting from wounds inflicted in punishment attacks in Northern Ireland. These attacks are perpetrated by paramilitaries on both sides of the political divide for so called ‘anti-social behaviour’ in their own communities. Attacks might take the form of a beating or shooting and are often seen as retributive community justice for crimes such as, but not limited to, car theft and drug dealing. Mistaken identity and hidden agendas are common.
Part II of the series shows the wounds of intravenous drug use. In contradistinction to Part I of the series these wounds are self-inflicted.
